Hybrid & EV Specialists
Hybrid & EV Specialists in Duns - Adam Green Motors EV
Adam Green Motors is one of the best known and popular garages in Duns, and we are proud at Adam Green Motors EV to be delivering the same top quality standard of repairs and services that you’d find at our original workshop, but as a specialist service for drivers of electric and hybrid cars and vans.
In response to an increase in demand for electric car repairs and servicing in the Duns area, we have invested in specialist equipment such as rubber-tipped tools, and as a team, we’ve qualified to Level 4 by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), enabling us to safely and effectively provide a full range of repairs, servicing and maintenance services for most makes and models of electric and hybrid vehicles. Our expertise enables us to run diagnostic testing and provide expert solutions to the same high level as the main dealers, but without the expensive prices they charge.
We’re pleased to have met the high standards of work and expertise required to join HEVRA (the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance) and our membership means we are kept fully up to date with industry developments.

As a Servicesure Autocentre, we’re pleased to be part of the national EVSure network of specialist electric and hybrid repair and service centres. To become part of the network, we’ve demonstrated that we have the correct training, skills and experience to work safely and reliably on EV and hybrid vehicles.
Electric cars have fewer components than a standard combustion engine car therefore, fewer things can go wrong which means that in general, you’re likely to save money on repairs. What is important is that any repairs, in particular those to the high-voltage systems, are carried out by qualified technicians such as those at Adam Green Motors EV.
Yes, once your electric car is over three years old, it will have to pass the annual MOT test just like any other car. The MOT test for electric vehicles covers pretty much the same as the standard MOT test such as checking the lights and tyres etc but of course, the emissions and exhaust parts of the test are not relevant.
It very much depends on what is wrong with the battery and how serious the issue is. If the problem is a damaged connection or perhaps a faulty battery cell, then these can usually be repaired. More serious problems can be costly but it’s worth bearing in mind that batteries are usually covered under the manufacturer warranty. Whatever you do, make sure to take your car to a specialist EV repair centre such as Adam Green Motors EV, for any battery issues as battery repairs should only be attempted by properly qualified and experienced EV technicians.
Many people choose to have a chargepoint installed at home which is probably the easiest option. There are, however, more and more public charge points available should you need to charge your EV while you’re out and about. You can usually find chargepoints in public car parks, supermarket car parks and of course, at motorway service stations. If you’re not sure where your nearest charge point is, you should be able to locate it on the map below.
Adam Green Motors EV are proud to be members of the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance, a network of the top independent EV repair and service centres across the country. All members are stringently vetted to ensure that they are properly qualified and that their workshops are equipped to ensure a safe and effective workplace.
